Foreign trade with non-EU countries - August 2025

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27[1] countries in August 2025 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in August 2025 will be disseminated on coming 16 October 2025.

In August 2025, exports to non-EU27 countries decreased by 7.7% and imports decreased by 3.1%, compared with the same month of the previous year.

In August 2025, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports declined by 8.1% and imports declined by 7.1%, compared with July 2025. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed decreases in outgoing and incoming flows of 0.1% and 0.8%, respectively.

In August 2025, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 1,777 million euro compared with a surplus of 2,794 million euro in August 2024; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 5,348 million euro, down compared with a 7,038-million-euro surplus in August 2024.


[1] As explained in the Methodological Note, preliminary data for the non-EU27 area include United Kingdom foreign trade data, relating to Great Britain, while they do not include Northern Ireland data. These will be included in the non-EU27 foreign trade data on the occasion of the first revision in the following month and dissemination on the Press Release Foreign Trade and Import Prices.
