Foreign trade

Istat presents data on Italy’s foreign trade as well as unit value and volume indices (base year 2010=100) referring to November 2013. The results of the flash estimates on extra-EU trade for November 2013 have been disseminated on December 20th.

  • In November 2013 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to October 2013, showed a decrease for outgoing flows (-1.9%) and for incoming flows (-2.2%). The fall in exports is the synthesis  of export growth for EU countries (+0.8%) and a decrease for non EU countries (-5.1%). As regards imports decreased for both areas: -0.9% for EU countries and -3.9% for non EU countries. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, in comparison with the previous three months, showed a decrease for both flows: -0.3% for exports and -0.8% for imports.
  • In November 2013, compared with the same month of the previous year, trade decreased by 3.4% for exports (-0.5% for EU area and -6.7% for non EU countries) and fell by 6.9% for imports (-2.7% for EU and -12.3% for non EU countries). The trade balance (January-November 2013) amounted to 26.8 billion Euro (10.2 billion Euro for EU area and 16.6 billion Euro for non EU countries) .
