Foreign trade

Istat presents data on Italy’s foreign trade as well as unit value and volume indices (base year 2010=100) referring to July 2013. The results of the flash estimates on extra-EU trade for July 2013 have been disseminated on September 6th.

  • In July 2013 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to June 2013, showed a decrease for exports (-2.3%) and an increase for imports (+0.4%). Exports decreased for both: EU market (-2.5%) and non EU market (-2.0%). As regards imports the growth was the synthesis of an increase for non EU countries (+1.6%) and a decrease for EU countries      (-0.6%). Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, in comparison with the previous three months, showed an increase of 0.9% for outgoing flows and a drop of 0.2% for incoming flows.
  • In July 2013, compared with the same month of the previous year, trade increase by 3.0% for exports (+2.6% for EU area and +3.5% for non EU countries) and decreased by 0.3% for imports (+1.1% for EU and -1.9% for non EU countries). The trade balance (January-July 2013) amounted to 18.2 billion Euro (7.7 billion Euro for EU area and 10.5 billion Euro for non EU countries).
