Foreign trade and Industrial import prices - May 2022
In May 2022 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to April 2022, increased by +4.8% for outgoing flows and by +0.3% for incoming flows. Exports raised by +4.9% for EU countries and by +4.6% for non EU countries. Imports grew by +2.4% for EU countries and dropped by -2.0% for non EU countries.
Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, increased by +7.9% for exports and by +10.1% for imports.
In May 2022, compared with the same month of the previous year, both exports and imports grew (+29.5% and +48.8% respectively). Outgoing flows increased by +32.6% for EU countries and by +26.1% for non EU countries. Incoming flows rose by +36.6% for EU area and by +65.5% for non EU area. The trade balance in May 2022 amounted to -12 million Euros (246 million Euros for EU countries and -258 million Euros for non EU countries).
In May 2022, import prices stayed unchanged on monthly basis (+0.9% for the euro zone, -0.6% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 6.5% (+4.2% for the euro zone, +8.7% for the non-euro zone).
Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, increased by 19.9% in May 2022 (+11.1% for the euro zone and +28.7% for the non-euro zone).
