Foreign trade and Industrial import prices
In October 2019 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to September 2019 increased for outgoing flows (+3.1%) and decreased for incoming flows (-2.3%). Exports rose for both non EU countries (+6.1%) and EU countries (+0.7%). Imports dropped by -3.9% for non EU countries and by -1.3% for EU countries.
Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, raised either for exports (+1.1%) and for imports (+0.1%).
In October 2019, compared with the same month of the previous year, exports increased (+4.3%) and imports decreased (-5.8%). Outgoing flows rose by +8.3% for non EU countries and by +1.2% for EU countries. Incoming flows fell by -9.3% for non EU area and by -3.4% for EU area. The trade balance in October 2019 amounted to +8,057 million Euros (+5,962 million Euros for non EU area and +2,095 million Euros for EU countries).
In October 2019, the total import prices index increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month (decreased by 0.1% for the euro zone, increased by 0.3% for the non-euro zone); the total twelve-month rate of change decreased by 3.8% (decreased by 0.2% for the euro zone and by 7.0% for the non-euro zone).
The quarterly total index of import prices decreased by 1.1% compared to the previous period (unchanged for the euro zone and decreased by 2.0% for the non-euro zone).
