Foreign trade and import prices - June 2024
In June 2024 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to May 2024, increased for exports (+0.5%) and stayed unchanged for imports. Exports increased by +1.5% for EU countries and decreased by -0.5% for non-EU countries. Imports increased by +2.6% for EU countries and decreased by -3.4% for non-EU countries.
Over the last quarter, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous one, were stationary for exports and rose by +1.1% for imports.
In June 2024, compared with the same month of the previous year, exports decreased by -6.1% and imports dropped by -9.6%. Outgoing flows declined both for EU countries (-7.2%) and for non-EU countries (-4.9%). Incoming flows dropped by -9.2% for EU area and by -10.1% for non-EU area.
In June 2024, trade balance registered a surplus of +5,065 million Euros (-1,045 million Euros deficit for EU countries and +6,110 million Euros surplus for non-EU countries). Excluding energy, trade balance surplus was equal to +8,646 million Euros.
In June 2024, import prices decreased by 0.1% on monthly basis (unchanged for the euro zone, -0.2% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 1.3% (+0.6% for the euro zone, +1.9% for the non-euro zone).
Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, increased by 0.4% (-0.5% for the euro zone and +1.0% for the non-euro zone).
