Foreign trade and import prices - February 2026

In February 2026, seasonally adjusted data, compared to January 2026, increased both for exports (+2.6%) and imports (+3.5%). Exports were stable for EU countries, while rose by +5.3% for non-EU countries. Imports showed a slight decrease for EU countries (-0.2%) and rose by +8.6% for non-EU countries.

In the last quarter, compared with the previous one, seasonally adjusted data increased for exports (+0.9%) and decreased for imports (-1.3%).

In February 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year, exports decreased by -0.2% and imports by -1.3%. Outgoing flows declined by -2.9% for EU countries while rose by +2.8% for non-EU countries. Incoming flows fell both for EU area (-2.0%) and non-EU area (-0.3%).

In February 2026, trade balance recorded a surplus of +4,944 million Euros (-652 million Euros deficit for EU countries and +5,596 million Euros surplus for non-EU countries). Excluding energy, the trade balance surplus amounted to +8,409 million Euros.

In February 2026, import prices increased by 0.4% on monthly basis (-0.6% for the euro zone, +1.3% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 0.2% (+0.2% both for the euro zone and the non-euro zone).

Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, decreased by 3.4% (-1.3% for the euro zone, -5.2% for the non-euro zone).
