Foreign trade and Industrial import prices

Istat presents data on Italy’s foreign trade as well as unit value and volume indices (base year 2015=100) referring to February 2018.

In February 2018 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to January 2018, decreased for outgoing flows and for incoming flows (-0.6% for both). Exports fell for non EU countries (-2.5%) and increased for EU countries (+0.9%). Imports decreased for EU countries (-1.8%) and rose for non EU countries (+1.1%). Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the three months earlier, showed an decrease for exports (-0.1%) and an increase for imports (+1.6%).

In February 2018, compared with the same month of the previous year, both exports and imports increased (+3.9% and +0.5% respectively). Outgoing flows increased by 6.9% for EU countries while non EU countries are stationary. Incoming flows increased by 2.0% for EU area and decreased by 1.9% for non EU area. The trade balance in February 2018 amounted to +3.1 billion Euros (+2.0 billion Euros for non EU area and +1.1 billion Euros for EU countries).
