Extra-Eu foreign trade

Istat presents preliminary data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU countries in April 2015. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in April 2015 will be disseminated on coming 17 June.

In April 2015, exports to non-EU countries increased by 12.2% and imports increased by 6.3% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 2,586 million euro compared with a 1,637 million euro surplus in the same month of 2014.

In April 2015, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports decreased by 2.0% and imports increased by 1.5% compared with March 2015. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 4.8% increase in outgoing flows and a 4.1% increase in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.

In the period January-April 2015 exports to non-EU countries increased by 7.7% and imports increased by 0.5% compared with the same period of 2014. The trade balance registered a surplus of 8,773 million euro compared to the surplus of 4,741 million euro in the same period of 2014. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 19,108 million euro compared with a 18,781 million euro surplus in January-April 2014.
