Export of Italian regions

Istat presents the breakdown of national exports by Italian Regions for the reference period January- June 2012.

In the second quarter 2012, compared with the first period January – March 2012, in seasonally-adjusted terms, export grows for all areas: North-East (+3.9%), North-West (2.6%), South and Islands (+1.9%) and Centre (+0.4%).

In the first half of 2012, compared with the first half of the previous year, exports increase for all territorial divisions: Islands +17.2%, Centre +7.3, North-West +4.4%, North-East +1.7% and South +0.9%.

In the first half of 2012, compared with the first half of the previous year, more relevant increases, according to their contribution to total export growth, were recorded for Sicilia (+21.2%), Puglia (+11.3%), Toscana (+10.7%), Sardegna (+9,3%) and Emilia Romagna (+5.2%). Significant increases occurred also for Umbria (+8.5%), and Marche (+6.4%).
