Employment and unemployment (quarterly)

Istat estimates that 22,5 million persons were employed in the 2^nd quarter 2013, down 2.5% (-585  thousands) from 2^nd quarter 2012. The employment rate decreased to 55.7%. Unemployment rise to 3.1 million (+370 thousands persons), while the unemployment rate increased to 12%. The inactivity rate slightly increased to 36.6%.
