Contractual wages and salaries

The index of wages according to collective labour agreements measures the evolution of contractual wages  (per employee or per hour) set by collective agreements; the indices are calculated with reference to the fixed employment structure of the base period (December 2010).

At the end of September 2014 the coverage rate for the whole economy (share of national collective agreements in force) was 41.0 per cent in terms of employees and 38.9 per cent in terms of the total amount of wages.

In September 2014 the hourly index and the per employee index were unchanged from last month.

Compared with September 2013 both indices increased by 1.1 per cent. Comparing January-September 2014 with the same period a year earlier, the hourly index increased by 1.3 per cent while the per employee index  rose by 1.2 per cent.
