Contractual wages and salaries - Q3 2024

The index of wages according to the national collective bargaining agreement measures the evolution of wages and salaries (per employee or per hour) determined by contractual provisions set by collective agreements; the indices are calculated with reference to the fixed employment structure of the base period (December 2021).

At the end of September 2024 the coverage rate (share of national collective agreements in force for the wage setting aspects) was 47.5% in terms of employees and 45.8% in terms of the total amount of wages.

In September 2024, the hourly index and the per employees index increased by 0.2% from last month.

Compared with September 2023 the hourly index rose by 3.7% and the per employee index increased by 3.6%.

In the period January-September 2024 the hourly index and the per employees index increased by 3.2% y/y.
