Contractual wages and salaries - Q1 2025

The index of wages according to the national collective bargaining agreement measures the evolution of wages and salaries (per employee or per hour) determined by contractual provisions set by collective agreements; the indices are calculated with reference to the fixed employment structure of the base period (December 2021).  

At the end of March 2025 the coverage rate (share of national collective agreements in force for the wage setting aspects) was 52.7% % in terms of employees and 50.7% in terms of the total amount of wages.

In March 2025, the hourly index and the per employees index increased by 0.4% from last month.

Compared with March 2024 the hourly index increased by 4.0% and the per employee index rose by 3.9%.

In the period January-March 2024 the hourly index increased by 3.9% and the per employee index rose by  3.8% y/y.
