Building permits indicators - Q1 2024

In residential buildings, the number of dwellings increased (+4.3%) in the first quarter 2024 when compared with the previous quarter, useful floor area increased (+3.9%) too.
Non-residential buildings decreased by 8.5% in the first quarter 2024 (quarter on previous quarter).
The number of dwellings in new buildings increased by 1.6% in the first quarter 2023 with respect to the same quarter a year earlier.
In comparison with the same quarter a year ago, the useful floor area was up 1.0%.
Non-residential area increased by 6.1% in the first quarter 2024, compared with the same quarter a year ago, reversing the previous trend.
