Annual National Accounts - Years 2023-2024
In 2024 GDP at current prices grew by 2.7% (to 2,199,619 million euro) compared with the previous year. The chained volume measure of GDP increased by 0.7%.
Gross fixed capital formation rose in volume by 0.5%, final consumption expenditure by 0.6% and imports of goods and services decreased by 0.4%. Export remained unchanged.
National demand (excluding changes in inventories) has contributed to GDP growth by 0.6 percentage points. The contributions of changes in net exports was positive by 0.1 percentage points.
Value added in volume increased in agriculture, forestry and fishing (+2.0%), construction (+1.1%) and services activities (+0.8%), while it was unchanged in mining and quarrying, manufacturing and other industrial activities.
General Government net borrowing was -73,937 million euro: -3.4% of GDP in 2024 (-7.2% in 2023).
Primary balance (General Government net borrowing net of interests) was +0.5% of GDP (-3.5% in 2023).
