Istat presidency: the Governing Board to appoint legal representative

The National Institute of Statistics informs that pending the completion of the new appointment of the President, starting today Professor Francesco Maria Chelli, currently the oldest member of the Istat Council, will guarantee the operation of the acts of ordinary administration as well as the legal representation of the Institute.

Yesterday, the deadline of the “prorogatio” of President Gian Carlo Blangiardo expired, which in the morning was heard by the Constitutional Affairs Commissions of the Senate of the Republic and the Chamber of Deputies as part of the confirmation procedure for a new mandate initiated by the Government, pursuant to Article 3 of Law no. 400 of 1988, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers on 9 March 2023.

The choice of Professor Chelli as legal representative of Istat and responsible for ordinary administrative acts was adopted by the Istat Council on 16 March.
