In-person and online event
Istat organizes the Third Workshop on Methodologies for Official Statistics on 4 and 5 December in Aula Magna.
The two-day event gathers researchers specialised in statistical methodologies applied to official statistics, and aims at promoting the exchange of ideas and best practices.
This workshop focuses on understanding the impact of new data sources (particularly big data and, more broadly, non-probability data) and new methods (as machine learning) on the production of official statistics.
The workshop consists of four sessions:
- Methods for multisource statistics;
- Methods for non-probabilistic data sources;
- Data, data science and official statistics;
- New data sources for small area estimation – this session is sponsored by the International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS).
Each session consists of master classes and invited speakers.
