Building permits indicators - Q4 2023

In residential buildings, the number of dwellings increased (+1%) in the fourth quarter 2023 when compared with the previous quarter, useful floor area increased (+0.6%) too.

Non-residential buildings increased by 28.3% in the fourth quarter 2023 (quarter on previous quarter).

The number of dwellings in new buildings increased by 0.5% in the fourth quarter 2023 with respect to the same quarter a year earlier.

In comparison with the same quarter a year ago, the useful floor area was up 1.3%.

Non-residential area increased by 24.7% in the fourth quarter 2023, compared with the same quarter a year ago, reversing the previous trend.
