Foreign trade with non-EU countries - January 2024

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in January 2024 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in January 2024 will be disseminated on coming 15 March 2024.

In January 2024, exports to non-EU27 countries decreased by 1.2% and imports dropped by 19.4% compared with the same month of the previous year.

In January 2024, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 4.5% and imports by 8.7% compared with December 2023. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 2.1% decrease in outgoing flows and a 7.1% drop in incoming flows.

In January 2024, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 2,889 million euro compared with a deficit of 1,386 million euro in January 2023; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 7,299 million euro, up compared with a 6,102-million-euro surplus in January 2023.
