Foreign trade with non-EU countries - December 2023

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in December 2023 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in December 2023 will be disseminated on coming 15 February 2024.

In December 2023, exports to non-EU27 countries decreased by 7.2% and imports dropped by 26.8% compared with the same month of the previous year.

In December 2023, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports increased by 0.9% and imports decreased by 2.5% compared with November 2023. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 2.3% increase in outgoing flows and a 0.2% increase in incoming flows.

In December 2023, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 8,335 million euro up compared with a surplus of 4,007 million euro in December 2022; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 13,245 million euro, slightly down from a 13,247-million-euro surplus in December 2022.
