Foreign trade with non-EU countries - November 2023

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27[1] countries in November 2023 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in November 2023 will be disseminated on coming 15 January 2024.

In November 2023, exports to non-EU27 countries decreased by 3.7% and imports dropped by 20.8% compared with the same month of the previous year.

In November 2023, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 3.0% and imports by 3.1% compared with October 2023. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 0.1% increase in outgoing flows and a 1.0% increase in incoming flows.

In November 2023, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 6,224 million euro compared to a surplus of 1,841 million euro in November 2022; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 11,410 million euro, up compared with a 10,555-million-euro surplus in November 2022.

 

[1] As explained in the Methodological Note, preliminary data for the non-EU27 area include United Kingdom foreign trade data, relating to Great Britain, while they do not include Northern Ireland data. These will be included in the non-EU27 foreign trade data on the occasion of the first revision in the following month and dissemination on the Press Release Foreign Trade and Import Prices.
