Foreign trade with non-EU countries - January 2023

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in January 2023 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in January 2023 will be disseminated on coming 17 March 2023.

In January 2023, exports to non-EU27 countries increased by 20.3% and imports decreased by 1.0% compared with the same month of the previous year.

In January 2023, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports increased by 0.7% and imports decreased by 9.7% compared with December 2022. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 5.8% increase in outgoing flows and a 14.8% decrease in incoming flows.

In January 2023 the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a deficit of 1,359 million euro compared to deficit of 5,284 million euro in January 2022; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 6,129 million euro, up compared with a 2,272-million-euro surplus in January 2022.
