Foreign trade with non-EU countries - December 2021

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in December 2021 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in December 2021 will be disseminated on coming 17 February 2022.

In December 2021 exports to non-EU27 countries increased by 12.6% and imports rose by 45.8% compared with the same month of the previous year.

In December 2021, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 2.1% and imports increased by 4.3% compared with November 2021. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 0.5% increase in outgoing flows and a 7.8% rise in incoming flows.

In December 2021 the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 4,737 million euro compared to the surplus of 7,972 million euro in December 2020; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 9,291 million euro, down compared with a 9,962 million euro surplus in December 2020.
