Foreign trade with non-EU countries - August 2021

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in August 2021 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in August 2021 will be disseminated on coming 15 October 2021.

In August 2021 exports to non-EU27 countries increased by 15.7% and imports rose by 39.9% compared with the same month of the previous year.

In August 2021, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 5.0% and imports increased by 6.5% compared with July 2021. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 3.1% increase in outgoing flows and a 6.7% rise in incoming flows.

In August 2021 the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 1,583 million euro compared to the surplus of 3.581 million euro in August 2020; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 4,719 million euro, down compared with a 5,231 million euro surplus in August 2020.
