The Big Data Annual Report presents the activities concerning the use of Big Data aimed at supporting the production of Official Statistics carried out and discussed in the Big Data Committee during the year 2017.
The BD Committee monitors Istat activities and proposes new projects aimed at defining new indicators based on Big Data and its members are national and international experts from academia, international institutes, private companies, the research sector and public bodies.
The contents of the Report therefore reflect all the activities carried out by the Committee, both cross-cutting and methodological, and the first results of the Istat experimental activities referred to several different Big Data sources are presented.
