Industrial turnover and orders

The industrial turnover index measures the monthly evolution of sales by industrial enterprises at current prices. The new orders index is an indicator of the value of future deliveries of products (and services directly linked to these products) to be provided by industrial producers. Since January 2013 the indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2010 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In November 2017 the seasonally adjusted turnover index increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month (+1.9% in domestic market and +0.2% in non-domestic market). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was +1.2% (+0.5% in domestic market and +2.5% in non-domestic market).

In November 2017 the seasonally adjusted industrial new orders index increased by 0.3% compared with October 2017 (+0.2% in domestic market and +0.4% in non-domestic market)
. The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was -0.1% (-0.6% in domestic market and +0.8% in non-domestic market).

With respect to the same month of the previous year the calendar adjusted industrial turnover index increased by 5.1% (calendar working days in November 2017 being the same as in November 2016).

In November 2017 the unadjusted industrial new orders index increased by 8.9% with respect to the same month of the previous year.

In November 2017 the seasonally adjusted volume turnover index (only for the manufacture sector) increased  by 1.3% compared with October 2017.
