In September 2020, estimates for construction output decreased by 8.1% in the month-on-month series, following monthly growth in the last four months.
In the three months to September 2020, the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction rose by 50.7% when compared with the previous three months, which represented the spike of national lockdown decline.
Year on year, both the unadjusted index for construction output and the calendar adjusted index (22 calendar working days versus 21 in September 2019) were up 8.8% and 5.1% respectively.
In the first nine months of 2020, construction output fell by 12.0% in the calendar adjusted series and decreased by 11.5% in the unadjusted series.
