Extra-Eu foreign trade
Istat presents preliminary data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU countries in November 2015. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in November 2015 will be disseminated on coming 18 January.
In November 2015, exports to non-EU countries increased by 3.0% and imports decreased by 1.8% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 3,312 million euro (Table 1) compared with a 2,645 million euro surplus in the same month of 2014.
In November 2015, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports increased by 3.7% and imports increased by 1.1% compared with October 2015. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 0.3% decrease in outgoing flows and a 2.9% decrease in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.
In the period January-November 2015 exports to non-EU countries increased by 3.6% and imports decreased by 0.1% compared with the same period of 2014. The trade balance registered a surplus of 27,746 million euro compared to the surplus of 21,735 million euro in the same period of 2014. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 56,343 million euro (Table 3) compared with a 59,476 million euro surplus in January-November 2014.
