Extra-Eu foreign trade
Istat presents preliminary data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU countries in June 2015. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in June 2015 will be disseminated on coming 12 August.
In June 2015, exports to non-EU countries increased by 9.1% and imports increased by 9.4% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 2,269 million euro (Table 1) compared with a 2,116 million euro surplus in the same month of 2014.
In June 2015, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports decreased by 1.6% and imports increased by 5.4% compared with May 2015. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 0.5% increase in outgoing flows and a 6.7% increase in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.
In the first half of 2015 exports to non-EU countries increased by 6.6% and imports increased by 1.3% compared with the same period of 2014. The trade balance registered a surplus of 13,932 million euro compared to the surplus of 9,262 million euro in the same period of 2014. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 29,365 million euro (Table 3) compared with a 30,545 million euro surplus in January-June 2014.
