Retail trade - July 2026

In July 2026, seasonally adjusted retail sales decreased by 0.4% in value and by 0.5% in volume compared with June 2026.

In the three months to July 2026, retail sales rose by 0.2% in value and dropped by 0.1% in volume compared with the previous three-month period.

On a year-on-year basis, retail sales in July 2026 increased by 0.8% in value, while falling by 0.6% in volume.

Compared with July 2025, retail sales value rose by 1.6% in large-scale distribution, was unchanged in small-scale retail and fell by 1.1% in non-store retailing. In volume terms, large-scale distribution recorded a slight increase (+0.6%), while small-scale retail and non-store retailing both declined (by 1.7% and 4.4% respectively). Online sales increased over the same period by 2.4% in value and by 1.6% in volume.

Among non-food products, year-on-year trends varied across categories. The largest increases were recorded in Electric household appliances, audio-video equipment (+6.1%) and Other goods (+5.0%), while the sharpest decline was observed in Shoes, leather goods and travel items (-2.8%).
