Foreign trade and import prices - March 2026
In March 2026, seasonally adjusted data, compared to February 2026, increased both for exports (+4.1%) and imports (+4.8%). Exports grew both for EU countries (+4.7%) and non-EU countries (+3.6%). Imports rose by +5.7% for EU area and by +3.6% for non-EU area.
In the first quarter 2026, compared with the previous one, seasonally adjusted data increased both for exports (+4.0%) and for imports (+2.3%).
In March 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year, exports increased by +7.4% and imports by +8.0%. Outgoing flows grew by +9.6% for EU countries and by +5.1% for non-EU countries. Incoming flows rose by +8.1% for EU area and by +7.9% for non-EU area.
In March 2026, trade balance recorded a surplus of +4,709 million Euros (-1.080 million Euros deficit for EU countries and +5,789 million Euros surplus for non-EU countries). Excluding energy, the trade balance surplus amounted to +8,643 million Euros.
In March 2026, import prices increased by 2.5% on monthly basis (+1.2% for the euro zone, +3.9% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 1.4% (+0.5% for the euro zone, +2.3% for the non-euro zone).
Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, increased by 0.1% (+0.5% for the euro zone, -0.1% for the non-euro zone).
