The seventh edition of The Permanent Census on school desks kicks off

On 6 November 2025, the new edition of The Permanent Census on school desks begins, the initiative promoted by Istat, thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, and aimed at primary and lower secondary schools.

Children and young people will be taken on a journey towards understanding censuses and official statistics, through a training course that will conclude with a Contest, divided into a statistical competition, titled ‘Censigare’ (25 March 2026), and a competition of ideas on the theme ‘Census and Territory’ (24 April 2026).

Every teacher, after collecting the authorisations from their pupils and reading the information notice, can enrol the class using the form, available from 6 November to 20 December 2025. (In Italian only)
