Istat's databases and other statistical information systems are topic-based and provide an accurate, global view of the phenomenon surveyed. Access to them is open and free of charge.
The databases are stores of information in which users may select the type of data and level of detail and build customised tables according to their own requirements.
The information systems contain information and structural data in ready-made tables which can be downloaded into a spreadsheet.
Each database or collection of data is provided with meta-information (such as methods, classifications or definitions) regarding the topic under consideration.

I.Stat: data warehouse of the Institute
It offers a complete and homogeneous wealth of information. Data are organised by theme, presented in multidimensional tables and with a wide range of standard metadata
A system of demographic, social, environmental and economic indicators referring to geographical areas, regions, provinces and municipalities. Indicators are grouped into 15 information areas.
The data warehouse, originates from a project Istat-Cnel, provides a wide wealth of information on central and local governments and related sectors.
ECONOMY
Statistical information system dedicated to foreign trade statistics. It provides, on a monthly basis, a wealth of information on trade flows between Italy and the rest of the world.
IMF: national summary data page
Official data produced by the Banca d'Italia, the Istituto Nazionale di Statistica and the Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze. They correspond to the criteria described on the International Monetary Fund's Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB)
Information system on agriculture and livestock
The information system for the dissemination of data on agriculture and livestock by subject, year and, limited to some areas, the regional context and detail desired.
Up-to-date official data on resident population in Italy. Elaborations on main demographic phenomena are also provided: fertility, ageing ratio, population projection, etc.
SocialCohesion.Stat
A warehouse produced by Inps, Istat and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. It collects more than 700 indicators on crucial aspects of Italian society such as population dynamic, labour market, human capital, poverty, social security and income support, active labour market policies

An information system completely devoted to the judicial statistics. Consultation of data is available surfing within defined tables.
