Databases and statistical information systems
Databases are eb interfaces for browsing and downloading of data produced by Istat. Each database is accompanied by methodologies, classifications and definitions related to the topic.
The statistical information systems, mostly thematic, provide a comprehensive and accurate view – with insights, analysis and metadata – of the investigated phenomena.
The access and downloading of data and information is free.
I.Stat: data warehouse of the Institute
It offers a complete and homogeneous wealth of information. Data are organised by theme, presented in multidimensional tables and with a wide range of standard metadata
Information system on agriculture e zootechny
Economic performance and farm structure, prices, means of production, crops, livestock and animal products, quality products, farm, forestry, hunting and fishing
Originates from a project Istat-Cnel, it provides a wide wealth of information on central and local governments and related sectors
Produced by Inps, Istat and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, it collects more than 700 indicators on crucial aspects of Italian society, such as population dynamic, labour market, human capital, poverty, social security and income support, active labour market policies
More than 1,500 time series organised into 22 thematic areas are available to tell the environmental, social and economic changes in Italy. Each series is completed by a history of data sources, describing the transformation of definitions and methodologies in the statistical information
Currently updated, it collects the economic statistics produced by Istat. Recent developments in key economic variables are presented in an integrated manner, with a selection of updated statistical data
Coeweb: foreign trade statistics
Statistical information system dedicated to foreign trade statistics. It provides, on a monthly basis, a wealth of information on trade flows between Italy and the rest of the world.
IMF: Economic and financial data for Italy
Official data produced by the Banca d’Italia, the Istituto Nazionale di Statistica and the Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze. They correspond to the criteria described on the International Monetary Fund’s Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB)
DEMOGRAPHY AND SOCIETY
It collects and organizes statistical data produced by Istat on teenagers and young people from 15 to 34 years, in order to make them more accessible to any kind of user

A general overview for monitoring and evaluating health in Italy. The functioning of the sanitary system and the health status of the population.
Warehouse of statistics on human capital produced by the Istat and other national and international Institutions (Invalsi, Unioncamere, Eurostat, Oecd). HumanCapital.Stat allows for the comparison of the data from our country with those from EU and OECD countries, and territorial analysis (up to the regional level) as well. Statistics are organized into three sections: Quantitative e qualitative human capital indicators; Human capital and labour market indicators; Income-based human capital indicators.
2011 Population Census
The data warehouse of the 15th Population and housing census contains a wealth of information, disaggregated to the sub municipal level, on the demographic and social structure of the population usually resident in Italy and on Italy's housing stock. The Census reference date is 9 October 2011.
2011 Census of industry and services
The data warehouse of the 9th Industry and Services Census 2011 contains a wealth of detailed information on the main features of businesses, non-profit institutions and public institutions, disaggregated at the regional levelel.
2010 Agricultural Census
The data warehouse of the 6th General Census of Agriculture contains a wealth of detailed information on the structure of Italian agricultural and livestock holdings, broken down to municipal level. The period of data is 24 October 2010
