Consumer confidence

The confidence index falls in September from 100.3 to 98.5.

The downswing is mainly due to a widespread pessimism particularly focused on the current and the overall economic situation, whose confidence decreases from 112.1 to 109.7 and from 70.0 to 67.,8 respectively.

The indicator on the personal climate worsens from 116.2 to 114.4 while that on short terms expectation shows a proportionally less marked decline (from 87.5 to 87.2)

Finally, both inflation perceptions for the last 12 months and expectations for 12 months ahead distinctly accelerate with respect to August outcomes.
