Export of Italian regions

Istat presents the breakdown of national exports by Italian Regions[1] for the reference period January- September 2012.

In the third quarter 2012, compared with the previous period April – June 2012, in seasonally-adjusted terms, export grows for all areas: Centre (+6.2%), North-West (3.2%), South and Islands (+3.1%) and North-East (+1.1%).

In the first nine months of 2012, compared with the same period of the previous year, exports increase for all territorial divisions[2]: Islands (+17.1%), Centre (+6.6%), North-West (+3.4%), North-East (+1.1%) and South (+0.1%).

In the first nine months of 2012, compared with the same period of the previous year, more relevant increases, according to their contribution to total export growth, were recorded for Sardegna (+17.7%), Sicilia (+16.8%), Toscana (+8.6%), Lombardia (+3.7%) and Emilia Romagna (+3.6%). Significant increases occurred also for Puglia (+8.3%) and Umbria (+8.4%).
