Significant increase in life expectancy: life expectancy at birth for the overall resident population is 83.4 years, almost 5 months more than in 2023.
Boom in emigration to foreign countries: 191 thousand (+20.5% over 2023), of which as many as 156 thousand are Italian citizens who are expatriating (+36.5%).
The number of new Italian citizens on the rise: 217 thousand acquisitions of Italian citizenship have been granted to foreign citizens residing in Italy, exceeding the previous maximum of 214 thousand reached in 2023.
Households are becoming increasingly smaller: in the last 20 years the average size has dropped from 2.6 members to the current 2.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
