In November 2023 the number of both employed and inactive people rose, while unemployed persons fell. <\/p>\n
On a monthly basis, the increase of employment (+0.1%, +30 thousand) concerned women and people aged 35 or more, while youngest decreased and men were substantially stable. Overall, the employment rate remained unchanged at 61.8%.<\/p>\n
In the last month, the drop in the number of unemployed persons (-3.3%, -66 thousand) involved both sexes and all age groups, with the exception of the 25-34 age group. The unemployment rate decreased to 7.5% (-0.2 p.p.), the youth rate to 21.0% (-2.5 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In November, the rise in the number of inactive people aged 15 to 64 (+0.4%, +48 thousand) concerned both genders and people aged less than 35. The inactivity rate grew to 33.1% (+0.1 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In the period September-November 2023, with respect to the previous quarter (June-August 2023), employment increased (+0.6%, +130 thousand).<\/p>\n
On a quarterly basis, an increase was registered for unemployed persons (+0.7%, +14 thousand) while inactive people aged 15-64 years dropped (-1.1%, -137 thousand).<\/p>\n
Compared with November 2022, the number of employed persons rose by 2.2% (+520 thousand), the growth concerned both genders and all age groups except 35-49 years; the employment rate showed an increase of 1.3 p.p.<\/p>\n
On a yearly basis, the rise of employed people was accompanied by a fall of both unemployed people (-3.6%, -71 thousand) and inactive persons aged 15-64 (-3.6%, -459 thousand).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
