In January 2023 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of value sales increased by 1.7% in the month on month series and volume grew by 1.2%.<\/p>\n
In the three months to January 2023 value of sales was up 1.5%, whereas volume of sales dropped by 0.5% when compared with the previous three-month period.<\/p>\n
In January 2023 value of retail trade continued to grow for the 23rd<\/sup> month in a row in the year on year series, rising by 6.2%, while volume sales fell by 2.4%.<\/p>\n In January 2023, when compared with the same month a year earlier, large-scale distribution was up 8.2%, small-scale distribution increased by 4.3% and non-store retail sales was up 6.1%.<\/p>\n Online sales rose by 3.0% in January 2023 when compared with January 2022.<\/p>\n Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors experienced growth besides Pharmaceutical products (-1.4%).
