In December 2022 the number employed and unemployed people increased, while a drop was recorded for inactive persons.<\/p>\n
On a monthly basis, the rise of employment (+0.2%, +37 thousand) concerned both genders and all age groups except 25-34 years. Overall, the employment rate grew to 60.5% (+0.1 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In the last month, the increase of unemployed persons (+0.1%, +2 thousand) involved women and people aged 25-34 years or over the age of 50. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 7.8%, the youth rate fell to 22.1% (-0.5 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In December the drop of inactive people aged 15-64 (-0.4%, -54 thousand) concerned men, women and all age groups. The inactivity rate declined to 34.3% (-0.1 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In the period October-December 2022, with respect to the previous quarter (July-September 2022), employment increased (+0.4%, +100 thousand).<\/p>\n
In the last three months, a drop was registered for both unemployed persons (-1.2%, -24 thousand) and inactive people aged 15-64 years (-0.6%, -83 thousand).<\/p>\n
Compared with December 2021, the number of employed persons increased by 1.5% (+334 thousand), the growth concerned both genders and all age groups except 35-49 years; the employment rate showed an increase of 1.1 p.p. .<\/p>\n
On a yearly basis, the rise of employed people was accompanied by a decrease of both unemployed persons (-11.0%, -242 thousand) and inactive people aged 15-64 (-1.7%, -225 thousand).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
