In May 2022 the number of employed and unemployed persons decreased, while inactive people increased.<\/p>\n
On a monthly basis, the drop of employment (-0.2%, -49 thousand) concerned both genders and people aged 25-49 years, while other age groups rose. Overall, the employment rate fell to 59.8% (-0.1 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In the last month, the decline of unemployed persons (-2.1%, -44 thousand) was recorded for men, women and all age groups except 25-34 years. The unemployment rate dropped to 8.1% (-0.1 p.p.), the youth rate to 20.5% (-2.1 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In May the increase of inactive people aged 15-64 (+0.4%, +48 thousand) concerned mostly men and people aged 25-34 years. The inactivity rate grew to 34.8% (+0.2 p.p.).<\/p>\n
In the period March-May 2022, with respect to the previous quarter (December 2021-February 2022), the employment rose (+0.6%, +136 thousand).<\/p>\n
In the last three months, a drop was registered for both unemployed persons (-5.0%, -109 thousand) and inactive people aged 15-64 years (-0.7%, -88 thousand).<\/p>\n
Compared with May 2021, the number of employed persons increased by 2.1% (+463 thousand), the growth concerning both genders and all age groups except 35-49 years; the employment rate showed an increase of 1.8 p.p. .<\/p>\n
On a yearly basis, the rise of employed people was accompanied by a decrease of both unemployed persons (-17.0%, -416 thousand) and inactive people aged 15-64 (-2.8%, -371 thousand).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
