In January 2022 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of retail trade fell in the month on month series, decreasing by 0.5% in value terms and by 0.7% in volume terms.<\/p>\n
In the three months to January 2022 there was no growth for value of sales, while volume of sales was down 0.5% when compared with the previous three-month period.<\/p>\n
In January 2022 both value and volume of retail trade continued to grow for the 11th month in a row in the year on year series. Value sales increased by 8.4% and volume sales rose by 7.3% comparing to January 2021.<\/p>\n
In January 2022, when compared with the same month a year earlier, large-scale distribution was up 6.1%, small-scale distribution rose by 12.5% and non-store retail sales grew by 4.2%.<\/p>\n
Online sales fell for the 2nd month in a row, decreasing by 2.1% when compared with January 2021. <\/p>\n
Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors experienced growth. The largest increases were reported for Pharmaceutical products (+30.2%), Sporting equipment, games and toys (+21.6%) and Clothing (+20.5%).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
