The first six months of 2020 showed a sharp decline in conjunction with the measures adopted to contain Covid-19 and a recovery in the summer months following the gradual easing of these measures.<\/p>\n<p>94.9% of agreements concluded concerned real estate unit exchange agreements for residential use (177,407), 4.7% for economic use (8,835) and 0.3% for special uses and multi-owned properties (625).<\/p>\n<p>In comparison with the previous quarter, the growth affected the whole territory both for residential sector (South +65.5%, Islands +61.6, North-West +49.9%, Centre +43.0%, North-East +35.6%, total value for Italy +48.3%) and for the economic sector (South +61.0%, North-West +51.7%, Centre +51.4%, Islands +50.5%, North-East +30.8%, total value for Italy +48.0%).<\/p>\n<p>Compared with the third quarter 2019, real estate unit exchange agreements rose overall by 2.3% in the residential sector and decresead by 6.7% in the economic sector.<\/p>\n<p>The trend growth observed for the housing sector affected South (+8.9%), North-West (+2.8%) and North-East (+1.5%) and, in general, the small towns of entire Country (+4,6%); Centre (-1,6%), Islands (-1.2%) and metropolitan cities (-0.7%) registred a decline. The economic sector is in decline on almost the entire national territory: Islands -13.1%, North-East -9.2%, Centre -8.1%, North-West -7,2%, metropolitan cities -8,1% and small municipalities -5,7%, with the exception of the South (+1.3%).<\/p>\n<p>Mortgage-secured loans (87,510) rose by 16.8%, compared with the previous quarter, and decreased by 7.1% on an annual basis.
