Family related homicides are growing: victims mostly women, perpetrators men.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, there were 315 homicides (345 in 2018): 204 men and 111 women. 19.7% (of which 17.6% male and 23.4% female) are foreign victims.<\/p>\n<p>Homicides have been falling since the 1990s, especially those due to organised crime (29 in 2019, 9.2% of the total).<\/p>\n<p>However, the number of family related and intimate partner related homicides is increasing: 150 in 2019 (47.5% of the total); 93 victims were women (83.8% of the total female homicides).<\/p>\n<p>In court proceedings, the number of defendants for homicide in \u2018relational contexts\u2019 is increasing (246 in 2010, 271 in 2018).<\/p>\n<p>See<a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/archivio\/255656\"> infographics on homicides 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Homicides on the decline.
