Istat presents preliminary data on Italy\u2019s foreign trade with non-EU countries in October 2017. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in October 2017 will be disseminated on coming 18 December.<\/p>\n
In October 2017 exports to non-EU countries increased by 11.2% and imports increased by 8.4% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 4,554 million euro compared with a 3,803 million euro surplus in the same month of 2016.<\/p>\n
In October 2017, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports decreased by 1.3% and imports increased by 1.7% compared with September 2017. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 3.1% increase in outgoing flows and a 2.4% decrease in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.<\/p>\n
In the period January-October 2017 exports to non-EU countries increased by 8.7% and imports increased by 11.9% compared with the same period of 2016. The trade balance registered a surplus of 28,614 million euro compared to the surplus of 29,942 million euro in the same period of 2016. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 55,201 million euro (Table 3) compared with a 51,044 million euro surplus in January-October 2016.<\/p>\n
