Istat presents data on Italy\u2019s foreign trade as well as unit value and volume indices (base year 2010=100) referring to March 2016. The results of the flash estimates on extra-EU trade for February 2016 have been disseminated on April 26th.<\/p>\n
\u2022\tIn March 2016 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to February 2016, decreased by 1.5% for outgoing flows and by 2.4% for incoming flows. Exports fell by 2.5% for EU countries and by 0.3% for non EU countries. Imports decreased for both: -2.7% for European countries and -2.0% for non EU countries. During the first quarter 2016, seasonally-adjusted data, in comparison with the previous quarter, showed a fall of 1.7% for exports and of 2.9% for imports.<\/p>\n
\u2022\tIn March 2016, compared with the same month of the previous year, exports and imports decreased respectively by 1.1% and by 5.9%. Outgoing flows increased by 2.3% for EU countries while decreased by 5.2% for non EU countries. Incoming flows fell by 2.3% for EU area and by 11.0% for non EU area. The trade balance in September amounted to +5.4 billion Euros (+1,331 million Euros for EU area and +4,033 million Euros for non EU countries).<\/p>\n
The import price index measures the evolution of prices for industrial products bought by industrial and commercial enterprises in Italy, both in the euro zone and the non-euro zone. Since March 2010 indices are compiled in the reference base 2010.<\/p>\n
In March 2016 the total import price index increased by 0.5% with respect to the previous month (the index decreased by 0.2% in the euro zone and increased by 1.4% for the non-euro zone); the total twelve-month rate of change decreased by 6.3% (respectively decreased by 1.6% for the euro zone and by 9.8% for the non-euro zone).<\/p>\n
The quarterly total index decreased by 2.8% compared with the previous period, by 1.0% for the euro zone and by 4.4% for the non-euro zone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
