Istat disseminates Regional (Nuts2) and Provincial (Nuts3) accounts data at current prices consistent with national estimates published in September 2014, which implement new sources, methods and the innovations of ESA2010.<\/p>\n
In 2013, GDP per capita amounted to 33,500 euros in the North-west area, to 31,400 euros in the North-east and 29,400 euros in the Centre.<\/p>\n
The South and Islands area, with a level of GDP per capita of 17,200 euros, reported a very large negative differential. Its level was 45.8% lower than in the Centre-North area.<\/p>\n
The regional ranking was lead by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano\/Bozen, with a GDP per capita of about 40,000 euros and registered an increase in comparison to 2011. The lowest value was recorded in Calabria with less than 16,000 euros, down from 2011.<\/p>\n
The final consumption expenditure of households at current prices in 2013 amounted to 18,300 euros per inhabitant in the Centre-North and 12,500 euros in the South and Islands area.<\/p>\n
Lazio and Sicilia were the regions with the greatest weight of tertiary activities, in terms of incidence of sectoral value added, while Basilicata and Emilia-Romagna were those with the highest propensity in agricultural and industrial activities.<\/p>\n
In 2012, Milano was the province with the highest levels of value added per capita, amounting to 46,600 euros; Bolzano followed with 35,800 and Bologna with 34,400 euros.<\/p>\n
