The International Year of Statistics is a worldwide celebration.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"STAT2013<\/a><\/td>\nThe founding organizations are the American Statistical Association<\/a>, Institute of Mathematical Statistics<\/a>, International Biometric Society<\/a>, International Statistical Institute<\/a> (and the Bernoulli Society<\/a>), and Royal Statistical Society<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The campaign\u2019s primary objectives are to:<\/p>\n

1. Increase public awareness <\/strong>of the power and impact of statistics on all aspects of society;
\n2. Nurture statistics <\/strong>as a profession, especially among young people;
\n3. Promote creativity and development <\/strong>in the sciences of probability and statistics.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Nearly 2,027 organizations\u2014professional statistical societies, colleges and universities, primary and secondary schools, businesses, government entities, and research institutes\u2014 are participating in this worldwide event promoting statistics and its powerful and far-reaching effects on society. These organizations are located in 122 countries spanning the world.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
