Since 1993 Istat has been collaborating\u00a0with the Statistical Institute of Albania to\u00a0facilitate its progressive integration in the\u00a0European statistical system, making this\u00a0relationship the most stable and longer of\u00a0Istat entire technical cooperation life.<\/p>\n
Albania is now at a critical juncture in its\u00a0commitment to European Union\u00a0membership. For this reason, opportunities\u00a0and challenges for cooperation and\u00a0stronger relations with EU have been\u00a0growing further in last years. One of them\u00a0is represented by the IPA 2007 EU Project\u00a0“Alignment of Albanian Statistics with the\u00a0EU Standards”. The project, supported by\u00a0the European Commission, started on 23\u00a0March 2010 and it is implemented by a\u00a0Consortium led by Istat, including Statistics\u00a0Sweden and MIPA as partners.<\/p>\n
Its\u00a0beneficiary is the National Statistical\u00a0Institute of Albania (INSTAT). The main goal\u00a0consists in strengthening the economic\u00a0statistical system, in order to create in the\u00a0country the right conditions to define and\u00a0implement sound and effective macroeconomic\u00a0and fiscal policies….<\/p>\n
