The results of the flash estimates on extra-EU trade for August 2011 has been disseminated on September 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In August 2011 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to July 2011, presented an increase of 0.1% for export and 0.9% for imports. The increase, for exports, was recorded for EU markets (+0.9%) compared to a decrease for non EU markets (-1%). For imports was recorded an increase for non EU countries (+2.3%) compared to a decrease in EU markets (-0.4%). Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, in comparison with the previous three months, showed a slight increase for outgoing flows (+0.1%) and a decrease for incoming flows (-3.2%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In August 2011, compared with the same month of the previous year, trade raised by 16.2% for exports (+17.1% for EU area and +15.2% for non EU area) and by 12.5% for imports (+14.2% for EU and +10.9% for non EU countries). The trade balance amounted to -3.2 billion Euro (table 1) compared with -3.5 billion Euro registered in the same month of 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In the first eight months of 2011, compared with the same period of the previous year, trade increased by 14.2% for exports (+16.5% for non EU countries and +12.5% for EU area) and by 16% for imports (+20.8% for non EU and +11.9% for EU countries). The trade balance showed a deficit of 23.8 billion Euro (table 1).
